Victoria Dam

Victoria dam,Mahaweli River on the upper section (209 kilometers) an arch dam, located 6 km Theldeniya.It was built on the Victoria Reservoir.it's main purpose is production and supply of irrigation water power.victoria dam is a heighest dam in the srilanka,it is supported to Sri Lanka's largest hydroelectric power station.In 1978, construction began in April 1985. It was opened by former Sri Lankan President JR. Jayawardene.
